OK - some of you may know that I do work with cars. With gas beign so hign let me give you a few pointers that may save you a few dollars at the pump.
#1 Keep your tires filled to proper PSI. If you want you may fill them up to another 5 psi. It will make that car a lil more bouncy , but will improve your milaeage just a bit. LOW air pressure will make your car work harder.
#2 replace your air filter. This will make your engine breathe better. Think about running with a scarf on. Kinda hard right? Same thing if you drive w/ a dirty filter. They cost $5-7 and will save you a bunch.
#3 Go buy a car/jar or fuel enjector cleaner. It will cost $2.99. dump it in and top off the tank. This will keep you fuel systen clean (if you buy cheep gas) and also help the car run better.
---------
The next few items you will need a mechanic if you are not handy under the hood.
---------
#4 Replace your spark plugs - dirty plugs will cost you fuel.
#4.1 replace your spark wires.
#4.2 check you O2 sensors.
---------
If you havent in awhile get your car tuned up -- this should run you between $80 - $150 for a basic tune job. While this not bring you loads of milage all this will keep you car running at the milage that your car was listed at when you bought it new or near new.
It does not take a whole lot to keep your vehicle running top notch. ANY work under the hood will pay for its self in the long run.
