Well I was going to work today . At least I was planning on it. I had the bOYZ over last night for Chili and cards. It broke up at 230 am ish. I was planning on getting to work at 9 and seeing what I could do. I forgot to turn on my alarm. So When I opened up my eyes I thought I might have slept in and it was 9 - 930 am..... wow it was 12:20 pm. I got up and cleaned the house from the night before and just had a lazy day..... sometimes those are the best.......

One hot tamale.....
Someone had a few issues with the tamale photo in my last post. I kinda still thing the last picture seem somthing that one would go to if they had never seen or ate a tamale. This year was cool at my parents house. My dad made the tamales. I know my mom cooked the pork and seasonings but my dad filled all the husks. I remember as a kid filling and putting all of the tamales in the pot. Waiting through the night for them to be done. The steam from the post heating up the kitchen and the smell of spicy pork and corn meal in the house. My Uncle would make a pot of coffee and even as a kid he would pour me a cup. Yes it was loaded with cream an sugar and perfect with a tamale. In some way that still is Christmas to me. My kids are sttill very young and I havent set up any traditions yet. ok, 1 so far... we open one present on christmas eve. I want to have a few more as they grow, but so far thats it. I hope you all had a great Baby Jesus Birthday.....

Merry Christmas...
Wow it looked like a bomb went off in my house today. Picture if you will 2 boys up at what felt like the crack of dawn and opening box after box. Papers and toy cars every where. Breakfast . Then a nap for my self. Then off 2 grandma and grand pa's when it started all over again this time with their cousin....... Its cool seeing Christmas through their eyes. We were leaving and walking past a few houses near my parents we saw a manger secne in lights. My oldest (5) looked and said that Little God was lit up. Made me smile. We then went on a ride in a area that was called Candecane lane (years ago). They used to decorate with rows of old toy soldiers . I havent gone in a few years. I guess people move or stop certain traditions. I have a few traditions that I like to do . One is on Christmas eve we open gift and I took a cue from the Jews (I have a few jewish friends!!) and order Chinese food. #2 TAMALES AT MY PARENTS HOUSE. Now that is a good time..... BTW this was the weirdest Tamale picture that I could find.

ER part 2...
SO this morning we decide to go to breakfast. As I'm pulling the youngest out of the carseat he cried a bit. We get in to the pancakehouse he eats and laughs but does not lift his right arm. As I get his jacket on him he does not want to me touched or lift the arm. I go to feel the elbow and he starts crying. I head off to the ER. AGain I tell the nurse what happened. I am actually expecting to be questioned about what happens (like I abused my son). But no ... The DR comes out and reads his file on how we were there on Wed night. He knows exactly what to do and explains the my son has a ligiment in the elbow that may be streachy. He shows us how to pop his elbow back in. The nice part is that the DR could see the worry in my face and told me that is was not my fault. ..... I felt like shit , but was made to feel better by the DR.. As of this evening his elbow is fine and he's running around like a knucklehead.....

ER...
Well this week has been uneventful for the most part except for wed night. My 2 year old dislocated his elbow. I thought it was his shoulder when I got home from work he was crying and could not hold it up. His brother and him were jumping on the sofa and wham... he fell/got knocked off - whatever. We make it in to the ER and the Dr says "it may be a break , but she feels like its most likely a dislocation" She asked if she could pop it back in to place. I agreed.. She grab my sons arm and pulled and twisted. I wanted to hit her because he was screaming. then pop.. 20 min later he was fine. the nurse said he could be sore for a few days but ok for the most part.. A few days later and hes doing ok. He tends to favor the left arm a little more than the right but is doing ok ...

and ummmm....WTF is a "gyro"?
A few days ago I ended a post with there are no GYROS in Whichita. I now have to answer a question I thought I would never ever have to answer. "and ummmm....WTF is a "gyro"?...... A gyro is a little piece of Greek heaven. It consists of the Gyro meat which is a combonation of lamb and beef. It is usually found in a 60 pound wheel and slowly cooked for days on a roaster that spins round and round. The meat is shaved and placed on a warmed pita bread. Then covered with fresh tomatos and onions and somthered with taziki sauce (a garlic cukecumber yogurt blend).
Heres another definitiuon....Gyro (yee-roh) - A Greek sandwich specialty. A proper Greek gyro is made with meat cut off a big cylinder of well-seasoned lamb or lamb and beef. This meat is on a slowly rotating vertical spit the name gyro, implying the circular spinning motion of a gyroscope). The sandwich maker slices off strips of the warm meat when the sandwich is ordered; heats pita bread on a griddle or grill, and then serves the meat on the bread, topped with the sauce, and usually garnished with lettuce and tomato.
Gyro is probably the most often mispronounced food name. Even its fans usually do not get the pronounced correctly - whether it is mispronounced as "jee-rohs," "jai-rohs," "gee-rohs," The correct Greek pronunciation is “yee-rohs.”
Ok I have eaten alot of drunken midnight Gyros in my life time but lettuce??? I have never and I mean NEVER seen lettuce on a Gyro. Even in greek town. So my dearest Scarlett I hope this answers your question on what a Gyro is. If you have a chance to have one and I mean a good one it will always be part of your late night food habbits.

Home again home again jiggity jig.....
Well I'm home. The flight was another of Dante's circle of hell, its the circle where you stil next to a fat man in a small plane and all he does is move around. I get to the plane at Wichita go through security and get to my seat. i nthe seat next to me is a large , old techno nerd w/ his lap top out. I hear him say "Oh great" as I sit down. Now I am thugged out at this point , full biker lesther , combat boots an AAss brewery black hat and wearing a dark shirt. I hit down buckle in and start to sleep. Now I stand 6'1 and weigh about 270. Not a small man. We are on top of each other. This flight is about an hour 20 min. During the first half he is figgiting with papers in a bag the lap top , writing emails and going through more papers. The stewartess comes buy and he asks for a drink. We dont even have roomo to drop the tray. Im trying my best just to sleep. I'm going home. Finally I just say "dude were 40 mins till we land cant this just wait? " . He stops dead in his tracks. I pull my hat over my eyes and drop off for the remainder of the flight. As we land a guy from across the asile tapps me on the shoulder and starts to tell jokes. (Nice guy) then hands me 2 $1,000,000 bills for my kids to have. The techno geek next to me has put his papers and lap top away without waking me. Arrrrg..... ANy how I beat the snow storm home, no delays. A freind picked me up ay the airport and I was happy. My body must have just been exhausted I was in bed by 11pm and crashed out. Crazy dreams and a good nights rest. I actually played hookey today. SO that made it even better. At 10 pm I went out to shovel it was weird NO one was out. It was like a ghost town, no drivers no other shovelers nothing just the sound of snow falling and me. That was kinda nice , it let me just work with out thinking. Glad to be home.... BTW had a gyro today --NO GYROS IN WICHITA....

9 days...
Its been a long nine days. I'm tired, 11 hour days then going out and being in a room w/ a stranger. I've almost felt that I have been stifleing (sp?) myself. That I have not been my self. I have not been real to my self here or at work.People look up to me here and listen to what I have to say. My reputation proceeds me. I guess the General manager of each new store hand picks out who they want. Files are looked at before selections are made. I have to live up to that reputation here. My sales presintation has to be crisp, clean, I have to smile and look sharp. I have to have the answer to every question that each sales person has. I'm number six in the nation according to the companies surveys. The truth is I guess I miss home. Im here alone in the cold and wind. Its funny a phrase comes to me and I don't know where I've heard it but "Hell is a cold dark place...". Tomorrow its supposed to snow and I'll probally get delayed on the plane comming home.
I'm just venting here because I cant do it at work.... I'm sitting by t he fire and typing an open rant ... ladies thank you for listening. Oh Scralett heres your monkey...

dinner
I've been eating out every lunch and dinner this week. Its ok the company is paying for it. So its been a small lunch Micky d's or subway, but dinner has been nice. We have been hitting the best steakhouses in Wichita. Last night I wanted a night alone. I took the van and just started driving. I found a Asian place, it served Chinese and japanese foods. I had some sushi and tempura. Nice place but even a nice dinner alone can seem hollow. As I was walking out I stopped to see the pics of the celebs on the wall. The usual local news groups and radio people. In the center I had to do a double take as I saw a picture of Glen Close and Christopher Walken together........ Now that folks was worth the price of admission. More cow bell..................

Well I've been out of my element and in Wichita for a few days and I've been reading a lot of maps in the past few days (to keep my bearings). I also saw this frapper thing on other sites, but Ms Scarlett site made me want to put this up. If you can just let me know where you are from or would like to be at. If you do put up a fantasy place please tag it as such.....With the warmest of thoughts ... Mr. CraneWHERE ARE YOU????--*LINKY*

More on kansas
Ok I've been here for a few days now. Kinda weird. This state has its taxes set up kinda different than what I'm used to. In IL when you buy a car you pay $78 for plated and registration, here its $10 to register the car and the cost of the plates is dependent on the cost of the car. A $2ok might run you $400 for plates -- every year. A motorcycle like a herley is considered a luxury and plated would run you $500. How ever .. gas is $1.89 per gallon. I thought I would never see gas under $2.00 in my life time.
Its windy here. it seems like the wind just does not want to stop. It blows from the time you get up until the time you go to bed. I'm tired ive been working 10 and 11 hour days .. its a good tired but long. Last night I had some killer pork chops and garlic mashed potatoes.... some good beers and watched some dawn of the dead. Not a bad end to a long day. I actually have a day off this week some time, I don't know when but i'm already looking forward to it. 6 more days......night all.
